A PRECOCIOUS CHILD OF ‘GLOBAL’ INTERESTS

HYDERABAD. Feb.11.
At three years and nine months. Most children are yet to identify the alphabet properly but Musham Adarsh appears to be way ahead of his age. He can locate contries and islands on the world map the names of which even grow nups will not be aware of.
This precoucious child. Son of Mr. Musham Damodar and Mrs Rekha, is an LKG student of Kotwal’s M0ntessori and primary school. West Marredpally. He gave a demonstration of his talents before presspersons here on Thursday.
Where is Mexico, Mangolia, Egypt. St. Helena, Agra. Tonga. The questions came fast and quick. The answers—rather indentification-was equally swift. With the aid of an indicator little Adarsh pin-pointed the countries on the world map to0 the astonishment of the presspersons, but soon his index finger was there right on the dot.
How did Adarsh develop this ability? No, it is no human beings behind this feast. It is the Discovery Channel which Triggered map-reading interest in Adarsh. The programme on animals migration caught by boy’s fancy and whenever he saw the African continent on TV. he started yelling “Africa”.
“Surprised by his interest we started coaching him and showed him new countries on the Musham Damodar.
map.”said the boy’s parents.
Adarash would sit before the world the world map and quiz everyone. Slowly his momory retention power increased an he would remember the names of countries easily. Later his parents gave him stmps of various countries an islands. Soon the boy could recognise the stamps and tell the countries they belonged to. He had even taken part in the State-level philately Exhibition conducted by the Department of Posts. said Mr.Damodar.
He said his son was also very fond of animals and vehicles. “We plan to have our child enter into the Limca and Guinness Book of Records.” the parents siad.

YOUNGEST PHILATELIST IN THE WORLD
Musham Adarsh aged 3years 12 months is the youngest stamp collector in the world.
According to the Bata Stamp collecting bookd published by Rainboe International. The Youngest stamp collector was JAMES MACKAY who started at the age of Four.
Adarsh is now undoubtedly the youngest stamp collector in the world and has also displayed his stamp exhibit at state level Appex-99 Ninth Andhra Pradesh Postal Circle Philatelic Exhibition
his exhibit “MY STAMPS’ won an SILVER BRONZE Medal and special Jurry’s Felicitations, he is also youngest boy to get an Medal in any philatelic exhibition in India and world. This makes Adarsh eligible for National Stamps exhibition held shortly at Delhi.
Apart fron this he is known for his MAP READING ability. Young boy can identify small islans like tonga, Cook Islands, Pitcairn Islands, Fiji, Kiribati,Christmas Islands, Reunion, mauritius and Iceland etc., which are hard to locate in a world map.
The budding cartographer can recognize big countries like Greenland, Russia, mongolia, north korea, Spain, Israel, Africa, Angola, Turkey, Norway, Sweden, Kazakstan etc.
Adarsh has good photographic memory, can relate stamps with their respective countries eg., Naurus Stamp Buddha. WHENEVER I TAKE HIM TO TANK BUND HE STARTS YELLING SEE DADDY ”NAURA BUDDHA”. Similarly, he identifies Tanzania’s Train, Sunil Gavaskar on St. Vincent STamp, Korea’s Panda, Israel’s Rainbow, Charminar on Nizam of Hyderabad Stamp.
ADARSH is found of animals and loves to visit zoo. At zoo ADARSH relates animals with stamps Bison, Hippopotamus, Rhinosaurus etc. on Burundi Stamp.
It all started some time back, he saw AFRICA MAP ON DISCOVERY CHANNEL Programme which showed the Animal Migration and whenever he saw the African Continent in the News, he started yelling Africa. Parents seeing his curiosity started coaching Adarsh by showing new countries every day on the World Map. Adarsh was so much attached to the World Map, sitting in front of the started quizzing everyone at house and learned to pinpoint small countries and big nations too. Slowly he started showing his memory retention power in recognising countries on the World Map with ease.
Later seeing his interest his parents gave stamps of these small islands, the boy started describing the countries with the theme on stamps for eg., Naura Stamp with Buddha, Krygystan Stamp with Eagle and so on. Observe the boys pronunciation of countries names which is hard for growth ups also Eg., Sieeraleone, Krygyston, Tonga etc.,
The ability of Adarsh has promoted us to give more stamp and the young boy started playing with stamps and has become an expert in recognising the stamps from distance such as SIEERALEONE STAMP in the shape of Africa and OLD RUSSIAN STAMP miniature sheet etc.,
Seeing his ability in MAP READING and STAMP COLLECTION we are sending entry form to Limca Book of Indian Records and also to the Gunnies Book of World Recorders under two sections.

Previous record held by Phillippe von Ferrary (1848-1917) began collecting stamps when he was 10 years old.
